The Story
A group of us decided to participate in the 1st annual Knoxville 24 Hour Film Festival in August, 2010.
The Rules
- The film must be written, shot and edited in a 24-hours window.
- The resulting work must be between two and four minutes in length.
To protect against pre-produced works being submitted for the festival, there were three mystery elements that were revealed at the festival kickoff that must be included in the film. They were:
- A landlord
- A dictionary
- “Try and be incognito when you meet them.”
The Story Behind the Story
Though our group had not begun work on the film itself before the festival started, a few members had already been brainstorming an outline for the narrative. After spending a few hours throwing around ideas, we settled on a plot and began production.
The original plot only lasted for the first half of the film. The latter half changed many times before shooting, and the final product had changed drastically from the original, which should be pretty evident in the film.
The final product was still comedic and Matt Dearman won his second “Best Actor” award in 2010 for his role in E.A.
