About
The reason I work in still and motion pictures is my passion for telling stories.
I often write, direct, produce, film, photograph and edit stories that inspire me, and in turn (hopefully) inspire others.
During all my projects, I want to create the best possible work of art. My goal when working with clients is ultimately to take your vision and make a final product that is better than reality.
I am by no means new to film and photography, with more than six years of experience. I have worked extensively with different equipment and software, and believe in self motivation and have a curiosity to continually learn more about telling visual stories more effectively.
Bio
Ben Moser, an award-winning photographer and journalist, is currently pursuing his life-long passion as a professional filmmaker and photographer. He has directed, filmed and edited and a variety of projects including short films, documentaries, sports highlights and features. He has photographed a diverse selection of subjects from weddings and private portraits to NCAA Championships and bowl games.
A native of 1988, Ben knew he was destined to create stunning visuals as young as age 12 through graphic design. He took up serious photography at age 15 and digital filmmaking at age 16.
Ben attended the University of Tennessee from 2006-2010 and graduated with a degree in Journalism and Electronic Media with a concentration in Visual Communications as well as minors in Cinema Studies and Business.
While at Tennessee, Ben was actively involved in filmmaking, photography, screenwriting and graphic design. Though his ultimate desire was to produce films, he knew the value of laying a strong foundation for his future career. He began his formal media training as a radio deejay at the campus radio station, 90.3 The Rock, learning the value of good audio.
Ben continued building toward motion pictures with his first photography job as a staff photographer for the Tennessee Journalist, the news web site of the University, which taught him the essentials of composing striking images. He eventually turned this job into the Editor-in-Chief position for an uncharacteristic two semesters, which gave him invaluable leadership and directing experience.
Internships with the Tennessee Smokies AA Baseball Club (Video Production and Graphic Design), NewsChannel5 Network (Production), and Scripps Networks (Production) allowed Ben to apply his skills in many different industries and situations. Each stop provided him the opportunity to expand his repertoire of professional skills, including sports, broadcast and cable television.
To complete his digital video experience arsenal, Ben began working with badlandpictures on many productions which can be seen on his films page. In addition, he volunteered with University of Tennessee Athletics Broadcasting in video production and graphic design. He subsequently expanded to produce his own independent projects, and longform narrative filmmaking is his preferred method of storytelling.
The culmination of audio, still photography and motion pictures results in an excellent background in producing, directing, photographing and editing stories via a visual medium.
Ben currently resides in Knoxville, Tennessee.
