I was hired by Denison University to shoot their men’s and women’s swimming and diving teams during the 2011 NCAA Swimming and Diving Championships held in Knoxville at UT’s Allan Jones Intercollegiate Aquatic Center. The experience of a football game day at the University of Tennessee is unlike anything one can experience anywhere else. The fans, band, cheerleaders and dance team all fantastically supplement the talented young players on the field. The moments--the touchdowns, last-second drives, goal-line stands and bitter defeats make up an enthralling and incredible college football game at Neyland Stadium in Knoxville, Tenn. This small collection of photos, taken between 2009 and 2010, gives a very small glimmer into the Volunteer gridiron tradition.

Collegiate athletics in any sport can be an arresting competition to watch, because nowhere can you find athletes that care so much about winning for pure sporting reasons without other incentives. These few images from women's volleyball games at the University of Tennessee in 2009-2010 show just that--young women competing solely in the spirit of the game.
