Last night was the first event for the Fall 2012 iteration of Knoxville Fashion Week, and I had the distinct privilege of photographing it! It was such a fun evening for me being that I have limited fashion experience. I felt very much like a fish out of water, but I adapted quickly to some difficulties and was able to get some terrific images amid the challenges.
The event last night was presented by Belleza and was dubbed the “Rock the Runway” Hair Show, showcasing young hair design talent and the professional services that Belleza offers. Many of the models had wild and wonderful hair creations that reminded me of the style you could expect in The Capitol from Suzanne Collins’ The Hunger Games series.
A good friend of mine, Melanie Howe, has been a model for Belleza for quite some time and she’s also experiencing great musical success with the Southern Drawl Band. You can see her in the sombrero image in the slideshow. She’s one of the most talented and kind individuals you will come across, so it was a joy to see her model for the first time! Mel and I performed together in UT’s Pride of the Southland Marching Band and in the local variety band “Siren” a few years back.
I look forward to what the Knoxville Fashion Week holds in store for tonight and the rest of the week!
Make sure to stop by the Moser Visuals booth on Saturday at the old Circuit City building at Cedar Bluff in Knoxville. The event is free to the public and we’ll be having lots of fun and giving away some great items too!
